However, the NFL then informed the Raiders that the helmet would have to be tested. And lo and behold Brown was informed Saturday that the helmet failed the test. This is my shocked face.Brown took to Twitter to tell the world what he thought of this development, and I will present his words here without further comment on them.From a practical standpoint, Brown was seen wearing a helmet at the Cardinals game just two days ago and it’s unlikely to be the same one which was rejected by the league. And that was just one of the Schutt AiR Advantage models Brown had located. Brown’s problem is that this model was discontinued quite some time ago and so finding one newer than 10 years old is proving to be a bit of a challenge. When the NFL pulls some nonsense like this, it just makes it more difficult for him. Brown should have a helmet in order prior to the season opener against the Broncos, but the league isn’t making it simple.
