The Cayman Islands are the only Caribbean destination to make Trip Adviser's top 25 tourist destinations in the world. Beating both San Francisco and Las Vegas, not to mention the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Petra in Jordan!? The tiny island chain consists of Grand Cayman which stands approximately 80 miles west of both Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. The Cayman Islands are in fact the peaks of a huge submarine ridge which rises some 8000 feet from the sea floor, however the islands themselves, being largely flat the islands barely break the surface of the water. Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and makes up 75% of the countries land mass and 95% of its population.
