With the Premier League season edging towards its conclusion, it was another busy week for Sky Sports Geoff Shreeves. Our reporter was up and down the country covering all the action, with this weeks interviewees including Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Newcastle centre-back Jamaal Lascelles and West Ham forward Andy Carroll.Ever wondered what else he gets up to in his working week? Geoff gives us an insight as he shares his daily diary... Sunday, April 17 - Leicester 2-2 West Ham Andy Carroll insisted Leicester should not have been awarded a last-minute penalty I had a chuckle with Carroll ahead of the Leciester game, and he admitted he laughed out loud when he heard the Manchester City fans sung, Youre just a **** Andy Carroll to Zlatan Ibrahimovic during their tie against PSG.But the Hammers striker was much more serious when I interviewed him later, lambasting referee Jon Moss for awarding that last-minute penalty against him.Monday, April 18 - First-time interviewing Jamaal Lascelles spoke to Geoff Shreeves for the first time Its always interesting interviewing someone for the first time and I have to say, Newcastles Jamaal Lascelles didnt disappoint when I spoke to him ahead of their 1-1 draw against Manchester City. Outspoken is not the right word, but he was not afraid to speak his mind regardless of age or lack of experience.I bumped into Rafa Benitez, too, who greeted me warmly with a hug and said hes relishing the challenge of keeping his side in the Premier League. Newcastle is a huge club, he says, and if they can stay up, they could really progress.Tuesday, April 19 - Title race Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino are each looking to win the Premier League title for the first time After Tottenhams scintillating performance at Stoke, I realise one of the things Im enjoying about this title race is the complete lack of mind games - Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino are two absolute gentleman.Just a little example of that - before the Manchester United game at White Hart Lane, Pochettino pulled me aside and said: I really enjoyed that feature you did with Ranieri.Wednesday, April 20 - Liverpool 4-0 Everton Liverpool got the better of Everton in the Merseyside derby It was off to Merseyside for the derby on Wednesday and I had the pleasure of bumping into the wonderfully old-school Terry McDermott, who was once sent off for the Reds in this fixture. And he said: Look, Ive still got the scar where I punched Gary Stanley, but it was all right because we went out together that night because hes me mate!Everton were really poor on the day, but an already under-fire Roberto Martinez fronted up and admitted it. Roberto is extremely likeable as a person, but his position is looking precarious.Friday, April 22 - Interviewing Arsene WengerI must have interviewed Wenger hundreds of times, but Friday felt like a throwback to 15 years ago. Gone was the gaunt, strained, tight-lipped persona we have all seen so much in recent times. He was well aware he has some serious critics, not least among his own fans, but he was open, upbeat and chatty. He was keen to engage on numerous topics, including Leicesters success using quick transition and conversely, if its fair to say Arsenal pass too much and too slowly.Saturday, April 23 - In or out?I found myself listening to a ferocious debate on in or out. There were lots of phrases like be careful what you wish for or time for change and the ubiquitous better the devil you know. But I got out of the car and was none the wiser as to whether they were discussing Brexit or Wenger.Sunday, April 24 - Sunderland 0-0 Arsenal Jack Wilsheres return against Sunderland was a positive for Arsenal It was a good day for Sunderland and Big Sam, who actually told me before the game a point would be a good result. As ever, just getting out of the bottom three is psychologically huge in the dogfight, and they managed to do just that. Jack Wilshere said it felt great to be back on the pitch during Arsenals 0-0 draw with Sunderland For Arsenal, the only positive was the return of Jack Wilshere, but even he was downcast about the result when I had a quick chat with him after. Uniteds eighth defeat of a wretched campaign means Liverpool, which currently occupies the fourth and final Champions League place, could go nine points clear of its fierce rival by beating West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. Charlie Adam scored both of Stokes goals at Britannia Stadium either side of Robin van Persies equalizer, with a miserable day for seventh-place United capped by first-half injuries to centre halves Jonny Evans and Phil Jones that forced them off. DENVER -- When the Denver Broncos settled for another field goal and were clinging to a six-point lead over the Indianapolis Colts with 1:51 remaining, one thought went through Von Millers head. Its time to close. And they did, thanks once again to Miller, who gave the Denver fans a reminder of his Super Bowl 50 MVP performance, sweeping in for the sack-strip of Andrew Luck that sealed the Broncos 34-20 win Sunday.Miller burst past right tackle Joe Reitz and swiped the ball from Lucks grasp. Fellow linebacker Shane Ray scooped it up and returned it 15 yards for the touchdown. It was Von Miller being Von Miller, Colts coach Chuck Pagano lamented. We did a great job on him at some points in the game. But hes a great, great player and he made a great, great play.Miller added a sack on the last play for his third of the game as the Broncos (2-0) sent the banged-up Colts limping to their third consecutive 0-2 start. He obviously got the better of me today, Reitz said. Im disappointed in myself, especially that last play in a critical situation. He got a good jump and got around the edge, got to Andrew. The rest is history. All afternoon, the Broncos rattled Luck, who started 5 for 18 before he engineered a couple of second-half touchdown drives. Luck completed just 21 of 40 passes for 197 yards and was sacked five times.Trevor Siemian outshone Luck, just as he did Cam Newton in the opener. He completed 22 of 33 passes for 266 yards.Cornerback Aqib Talib returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter, giving Denver a 23-13 lead.Talib stepped in front of wide receiver Phillip Dorsett to snag Lucks pass, which he returned through traffic down Denvers jubilant sideline. His ninth career pick-6 was his fifth for Denver, a franchise record. The good thing about Aqib is if he ever gets his hands on the ball, hes not only a DB, hes a returner, coach Gary Kubiak said. Its not luck, its preparation, Talib said.I practice it, he said. When I get an interception in practice, I go score on it. Practice makes perfect.DQwell Jackson stuffed C.J. Anderson on third-and-1 from the Colts 17 and Brandon McManuss 35-yard field goal made it 26-20 with 1:51 left. After a touchback, Luck lined up and took the snap.In a split second the ball was on the ground, and Luck watched helplessly as Ray scooped it up and scored. You cant turn the football over, have pick-6s, sack-fumbles returned for touchdowns, Luck said Its just too hard to overcome.ddddddddddddSTEWART AGAIN: Luck threw a 7-yard TD pass to Frank Gore with 4:02 remaining, pulling the Colts to 23-20. The drive was kept alive by safety Darian Stewarts roughing penalty for smacking the quarterback in the helmet as he slid for the first down on a third-and-1 scramble at his own 30. Stewart was fined $18,231 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Newton in the opener and can expect another fine this week.THIN AIR: One week after Panthers punter Andy Lee had a 76-yard kick in Denvers mile-high air, Pat McAfee had a 72-yarder for the Colts that was nearly blocked but ended up bouncing into the north end zone for a touchback.HONORING GREATS: The Broncos unveiled signs in the south end zone before the game honoring the players with retired numbers: Hall of Famers John Elway (7) and Floyd Little (44) and the No. 18 for Frank Tripucka, the first QB in franchise history. Tripuckas sign included a mention of Peyton Manning . Tripucka, who played from 1960-63, gave his blessing for Manning to wear the number when he was with the Broncos from 2012-15.INJURY UPDATE:Colts: CB Antonio Cromartie (shoulder) got hurt when he smacked into Emmanuel Sanders on the games second snap, but returned in the second quarter. WR Donte Moncrief left in the second quarter with a head and neck injury. CB Rashaan Melvin left in the third quarter with cramps. RG Denzelle Good left in the fourth quarter with a back injury. Indianapolis began the day without three starters from their secondary in cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle) and Patrick Robinson (concussion) and safety T.J. Green (knee).Broncos: Denver sustained three big injuries: OLB DeMarcus Ware broke his right forearm, and Kubiak said he didnt know if Ware will have surgery right away.
