Daniel Ricciardo has admitted 2016 is a crucial year for both Red Bull and his own career as team and driver look to return to winning ways. The Australian won three races during his debut campaign with the senior Red Bull team in 2014, but endured a difficult season last year, eventually finishing behind team-mate Daniil Kvyat in the drivers standings. When asked by Sky Sports if he might have to look elsewhere if Red Bulls competitiveness did not improve in 2016, Ricciardo said: I think for both of us this year is a big one. We all feel and hope it is that turning point for Red Bull to really step back onto winning ways and re-establish ourselves as a team that can win a championship in the very near future, not the next five years. For me, Ill be 27 this year. I still see myself in the sport, all going well, for another 10 years, but things do move quickly. Dietrich Mateschitz [the Red Bull owner] pointed out last year he wasnt going to hang around if we werent competitive. We dont really want to muck around and be running fourth or fifth place in the constructors for too much longer. However, if things fail to improve, dont expect Ricciardo to be vocal in voicing his frustrations. The Australian was linked with a move to Ferrari as a replacement for Kimi Raikkonen last year and knows the value of not tarnishing his reputation. If I let the frustration get the best of me, I am not going to be a wanted man for very long, he added. Red Bull unveiled their new car for the 2016 season on Wednesday I still have to make sure I maintain my commitment and motivation for the sport and make sure Im still respected by not just teams and drivers but everyone around. You sadly get used to understanding that not always the best car wins, but I figure when I have the tools again, Ill run with it.The first Barcelona test starts on Monday February 22 and the Sky Sports F1 Digital team will be providing live commentary from dawn until dusk on all four days of both Barcelona tests while Sky Sports News HQ will also deliver live updates from trackside. SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw believes parity might finally hit womens basketball after seeing Connecticut win an unprecedented fourth consecutive title last postseason.I think well have a year where maybe well see a different No. 1 every other week like the men had last year, which I thought was really exciting -- unless were the ones that are not No. 1, she joked Monday. The Fighting Irish, like Baylor, Tennessee, Stanford and several other teams, have most of their best players returning. The Huskies lost three-time AP Player of the Year Breanna Stewart, Morgan Tuck and Moriah Jefferson.McGraw said shes hoping there is parity.I think its going to be great for the game, she said. This was the year nobody lost a lot of talent except for Connecticut. So I think that really evens things out.McGraw, who guided the Irish to a national championship in 2001, believes this years Irish team might be the most talented shes coached. She believes 6-3 forward Brianna Turner (14.6 points, 7.3 rebounds), the Atlantic Coast Conference player and defensive player of the year as the Irish went 33--2 last season, is the nations best player and senior Lindsay Allen, who averaged 9.dddddddddddd3 points and 5.8 assists, is the best point guard.Allen has started every game in her three seasons at Notre Dame, leading the Irish to a 106-6 record. The Irish had gone to five straight Final Fours until they were upset 90-82 by Stanford in a regional semifinal last postseason, only their second loss in the past three seasons to a team other than Connecticut. Gone from that Irish team are Madison Cable (13.7 points) and Michaela Mabrey (6.8 points), but the Irish add a pair of talented freshmen in Jackie Young and Erin Boley, and get back Ali Patberg, who sat out her freshman year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee.Despite being confident in her team, McGraw said she wouldnt rank the Irish No. 1 to begin the season.I would put us in the top five. There are a lot of good teams this time of year, she said. We havent earned anything. I want to earn it. ' ' '
