NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Derrick Morgan is having the best season in his seventh year in the NFL, while Brian Orakpo on the other side of Tennessees defensive line is just two sacks shy of matching his career high.Together, the Titans linebackers are taking down quarterbacks as good as any duo in the NFL.Morgan has eight sacks, while Orakpo has nine for a total of 17. Only Cliff Avril (10) and Frank Clark (7+) of Seattle have more combined sacks, and thats by just a half sack. Those two guys right there are game-changers, and when those two are rolling theres nobody out there that can stop them, Titans defensive lineman Jurrell Casey said.So its really hard for an offensive line to contain either one of them. And when you get guys like that rushing off the edge, it makes the game a lot easier for the guys in the middle and for the secondary, makes the game 10 times easier for them.Morgan, the Titans first-round pick in 2010 out of Georgia Tech, and Orakpo now find themselves in a race to see who can become the first Tennessee player to pile up double-digit sacks since Casey had 10+ in 2013.Thats any edge defenders goal is to get to double digits, Morgan said. Thatd be something special if we were both able to get to double digits and finish off the year strong.Orakpo had 11 sacks as a rookie with Washington in 2011 and had 10 in 2013 also with the Redskins. This already marks his best season since then, and Orakpo already has 32 quarterback pressures with five games left -- five shy of what he totaled all of last season.Padding the sack level to 10 or higher is much more special since the quarterback winds up on the ground.Oh, thatd be huge not only for me and him because of how hard we work together since day one, but for this franchise and organization. Orakpo said. I love working with the guy. We both bring it. We both complement each other very well. The Titans (5-6), who visit Chicago (2-8) on Sunday, havent had this kind of production from a defensive duo since 2010 when Jason Babin (12+) and Dave Ball (seven) combined for 19+ sacks.Defensive end Jevon Kearse (14+) and linebacker Eddie Robinson (six) combined for 20+ sacks in 1999 when this franchise reached its lone Super Bowl. Two Titans each with double-digit sacks? That would be a first since 1999 when this franchise was renamed the Titans.Morgans production is special to the linebacker who has fought injuries since being drafted, playing a full 16 games only in 2012 and 2014.He had 6+ sacks in each of those seasons, limited by not having a strong pass rush threat on the other side. He said he thanks God for his success, especially the teammates around him. This is what the Titans envisioned when they signed Orakpo in March 2015 to a four-year deal and brought back Morgan with a four-year deal as well.I think youve seen the tale of two years, Titans coach Mike Mularkey said. One year you dont, and then one year you do. You see really a force from both sides.Youre seeing other guys getting involved with the pressure. Its evident when you can have two edge rushers that are having success, one can play off the other. ... Theyre both having success because of each other.Game notesLT Taylor Lewan (left knee) was limited in practice. TE Phillip Supernaw (concussion protocol) did not practice. RB DeMarco Murray (toe on right foot) and CB Brice McCain (knee) practiced fully.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL .---Follow Teresa M. It is a cliché dragged out by fans and pundits regularly when discussions take place around which teams are better than others.Argentina looked like they gave the All Blacks way too much respect in Buenos Aires and what we ended up with was literally a game of two distinct halves. The damage had been done so far as New Zealand were concerned by halftime. The All Blacks were clinical and for skipper Kieran Read to decide at a penalty goal chance, were going to score a try and were going to camp down here until we get it, demonstrated their intent and that they were never really scared of losing the game. They looked the challenge right in the eye. That was clear in the scrums where, in the first half, the All Blacks took the Argentina pack apart. And after that they had nothing left. Argentina pride themselves on their scrum but the All Blacks demolished it and they had no game. The All Blacks defence was absolutely massive. They got up in the Pumas faces and took them apart.Anton Lienert-Brown was given a start at centre and he took it with two hands. It is actually a real concern for anyone who gets tapped on the shoulder and told they are going to be given a rest because there is a chance they may never get back again.I see Ben Smith said please dont rest me, but that may be the only way we get new players involved. In yesteryear you would have called it rotation but lets be honest, rotation was never a dirty word. Its good coaching, its developing, its giving other players an opportunity and its building a group of good players and they are expanding their selection options.Graham Henry brought in the rotation process way back when everyone said he couldnt do that, but now Steve Hansen is actually showing why he needs to do it and there can be no doubt that it is the correct thing to do. But, of course, he doesnt call it rotation and hes got away with it quite nicely. This weekend it is a case of the Springboks worrying about the Springboks. The All Blacks will have flown to Durban with a lot more work-ons which is scary. Argentina were put to the sword in the first 40 minutes, but the All Blacks line speed being was so fast that they did tend to get offside a fraction which the assistant referees were calling. But South Africa can only go back to the best game they can play. The Lions style hasnt worked for them and it says everything when they couldnt get within 10m of the Australian goal-line.The All Blacks will show respect to the South Africans - tradition demands that - but they are all fighting for positions and their biggest threat is the bloke behind them creating all the competition in the squad which brings out the best in them and it is a really good place to be.There is the other factor, the looming world record for successive Test wins. That can be a distraction.dddddddddddd They have said that they will concentrate on what is in front of them - the next game and all that. But the record will be looming in the background.Theyll all be aware of it, its a world record at tier-one level after all, but theyve just got to be business as usual because the next game could be a banana skin if they take their eye off who they are playing. The media, the public and the fans have this feeling they are going to do it, and thats easy for us sitting on the couch or on the sideline predicting the future; but were not the guys who have to run out onto the arena and do the job. So the All Blacks want their heads focused on what that job is.And the Springboks will know that is at the back of the All Blacks minds. If there is one team that can pull out a big game just because it is the All Blacks, it is South Africa. The Boks arent playing great rugby at the moment, but they will be full of passion on home soil. Its worth remembering the 1995 World Cup final and everyone saying that all the All Blacks had to do was turn up on the day and win it. We all talk about the food poisoning and that the All Blacks werent on their game, but the reality is South Africa were fired up and were men possessed that day and they won the World Cup. That was a banana skin that no-one saw coming.Their supporters are some of the most passionate rugby fans in the world, second probably only to the Kiwis.Durban is a great place and that will probably, if anything, help the All Blacks. The climate is good; its at sea level and its a nice place to play but it is a very hostile environment at Kings Park. The fans are so close to the field and the tiers of the stadium have the crowd right on top of you. But that shouldnt faze the All Blacks; theyve all played there and South Africa is pretty much a second home to a professional rugby player. And the other interesting thing is the choice of London for the Argentina-Australia game. It was probably a good result for the Aussies because their flight to London from South Africa along the same time line would be easier than flying on to Argentina. It will have been a bit tougher for the Pumas.Being Argentinas home game it will be interesting to see how they approach it, given the sides played there last year in the World Cup semifinal where Australia claimed the win.Twickenham is one of the best stadiums in the world and theres certainly lots of Australian fans living in London and enough rugby purists to watch a Championship game.
